Judith Ann Miles the daughter of Dan and Kathryn (Orr) Miles, was born September 18, 1942 in Winterset. She graduated from Winterset High School in the class of 1960 and her marriage to Earl S. Leslie took place on September 14, 1963. Judy was a dedicated wife and mother, staying at home to raise her children. Later, she took a job with the Winterset Elementary School working in the cafeteria for 15 years. Prior to that, she worked briefly at Madison Square. She was a member of the Winterset Community Church and was baptized in the First Christian Church where she had been a long time member. Judy loved to travel and was especially fond of her trip to Hawaii. Judy also was quite a concert goer having seen many including Michael Buble, Billy Joel, David Phelps, Elton John, The Rockettes Christmas show and her all-time favorite, the Gaither Vocal Band, just to name a few. She was a dedicated QVC home shopper and loved to go out to eat. All this said, most will recall Judy’s love of taking care of others; whether you were a student in her lunch room, a family member or friend. She is survived by her children, Dan Leslie of Grimes, Sherry Stowe of Winterset, a sister, Sherry Dalrymple of Des Moines and two grandchildren, Brandon Leslie and Jacob Stowe. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Leslie who died on April 23, 1981 and a brother-in-law, Grant Dalrymple. ©
