Julie Brown-Foland

Julie Brown-Foland, 66, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025. 

Julie was born on Valentines Day, February 14, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa. Growing up, she attended Waukee High School and graduated in 1976. She dedicated many years to the hospitality industry, working as a server at several restaurants in the Des Moines Area. She later married Craig Leroy Foland at the Taylor County Courthouse. 

Julie was always known to be an excellent cook. Always making wonderful, fresh meals prepared from vegetables from her garden. She and Craig took great pride in caring for their garden, working hard to have a bountiful harvest each and every year. Julie also enjoyed talking and getting to know people. She didn’t know a stranger and could carry a conversation with anyone. She was an extremely kind hearted person who will be greatly missed. 

Julie is survived by her husband of 17 years, Craig Foland; daughter, Sara (Jacob) Gilliam; brothers, Michael Long and Doug Hiatt; sister, Machell Long; her dog, Lillie; and her cat, Millie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Brown; and step-daughter, Nicki Morales

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February, 10, 2025 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory (8201 Hickman Rd, Urbandale, Iowa).
