Junior Merle Kirton

Junior Kirton, age 95 of Woodward, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Madrid Home for the Aging in Madrid, IA. According to his wishes cremation rites have taken place and no services are planned. Memorials will be given to family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Junior Merle Kirton was born on November 22, 1926, at Columbia, IA to Merle Arthur and Luella (Oatley) Kirton. He attended the East High School in Des Moines, IA. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was united in marriage to Joyce Evelyn Phillips at Des Moines, IA on December 31, 1943. He was self-employed mechanical engineer until 1967, when he went to work with Natkin in Peoria, IL. Junior enjoyed fishing and golfing. In death he rejoins his wife Joyce and his parents Merle and Luella Kirton. Left to cherish Juniors memory are his son, Terry (Nadene) Kirton, grandchildren, Bryant Kirton, Shad Kirton, Brenna Currier, 9 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
