Justin Tyler Thomas

Justin Tyler Thomas, 37, passed away on November 11, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Justin was born December 12, 1983 in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Hoover High School. Justin loved sports, especially basketball, music, animals, holidays, and enjoyed camping. He was also an avid Nike Air Jordan shoe collector, and was very proud of his collection. Justin found joy in spending time with family and playing with his niece and nephew. He will be remembered for being a loyal friend with a good sense of humor, who was very sentimental with a huge heart. Justin will be loved and missed forever by his family. Justin is survived by his father, Darwin Thomas, Jr.; mother, Laurie (Dan) Garringer; sisters, Heather (Ben Fessler) Thomas, Jasmine Thomas, and Shaina Thomas; brother, Samuel Thomas; niece, Ashlynn Riley; nephew, Lincoln Fessler; grandpa, Harry (June) Lavigne, as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandma, Nancy Lavigne, and grandparents, Darwin and Lois Thomas. Memorial contributions may be given to the Animal Rescue League in Justin’s name.
