Karen M. Ham - Winterset

Karen Margaret Ham 89, of Winterset, IA, died March 10, 2014 at Care Center South in Winterset after a long illness. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 15 at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Karen was born June 4, 1924 in Adair County to Blanche (Miller) and Mouritz Christensen. She grew up in Hanley, IA and went to school in St. Charles and Winterset High finishing her education with a GED. She married Don Ham July 30, 1981 in Winterset. She worked at various occupations, including a hemp mill, plastic factory and CNA doing whatever was needed at that time of her life. She loved her flowers, quilting, crocheting and especially her family. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her husband, Don; three sons, Gary (Linda) Lintz, Gail (Terry) Duff, Lynn (Debbie) Duff; two daughters, Sherry (Steve) Duff-Jipp, and Marlene Duff; five step-children, Charlene (Michael) Craig, Clinton (Joyce) Ham, John Ham, Marten (Sheryl) Ham, Glenn (Chris) Ham; numerous grand-children, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, five sisters and one brother..
