Karla A. Miller - Adel

Karla A. Miller, 49, died Tuesday, October 8 at Mercy West Lakes, West Des Moines. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 12, at United Methodist Church in Van Meter, with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, where family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Karla was born December 21, 1963 to George and Doris Miller in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1983. Karla was baptized at West Side Church of Christ in Des Moines, Iowa. She was presently an active member of United Methodist Church in Van Meter, Iowa. As an adult, she worked at Norwest Bank, Bankers Trust Bank, Des Moines Register newspapers delivery and USDA Financial Processing Center. She really enjoyed small dogs, reading books, movies of true stories, and doing all kinds of crafts. Karla is survived by sisters, Cynthia (Karl) Overton of Des Moines, Kimberly (Vernon) Mumford of Dexter; brother, Dennis (Diana) Miller of Elk Point, South Dakota; 12 nephews and nieces; 7 great-nephews and great-nieces. Karla is preceded in death by her parents, George and Doris (James) Miller. Memorial contributions may be made to Deaf Mission in Council Bluffs. Online condolences may be left at this site.
