On Friday, June 27, 2014 Kathryn Ehrhardt died at the age of 86. Kathryn loved her life, her family, and her friends. Kathryn was born in North English, Iowa to Charles Ray and Edith Claire Mahannah and was little sister to Stanley Wilson and Donald Ray Mahannah. After high school, she went on to graduate from Drake University in 1947 with a teaching degree that she put to good use in Belmond, Iowa until while at an ice cream social at the First Christian Church in Adel where her brother Stan was the minister, she met and married the love of her life, Richard Ehrhardt. The couple was married just short of 60 years. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 30, 2014 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Friends may call after Noon Sunday at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 2 to 4 PM. Those left to mourn her passing are her four children Fran (Brian) Morris, Linda (Vicki) Smith - Harris, Rick (Rhonda) Ehrhardt and Tim (Mary) Ehrhardt Her special loves were her grandchildren Nathan Morris (Stephanie Marolt), Steven (Danielle) Smith, Stephanie (Rob) Dobek, Rachel (James) Bissett, Reid and Robyn Ehrhardt, Sarah Ehrhardt, Charissa (Alex) Register, Mikaela Ehrhardt along with Amanda and Peter Purcell. She also leaves great-grandchilden Ellie and Lucy Morris, Justin Defenbaugh, Melanie and Dylan Smith, Emily Bissett, and Kolten Boyens. Also left is her much loved sister in law Grace Mahannah. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, her husband and infant daughter, and great-grandson Daniel Steven. In lieu of flowers the family would ask donations go to the First Christian Church or to Saint Jude Hospice whose love and care helped us so much in her last days. We would send special thanks to nurse Lori and Chaplain Dawn. Online condolences may be left at this site.
