Kathryn Sprouse

Kathryn Sprouse, 70, of Winterset, died peacefully surrounded by family, Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston after a lengthy illness. Kathryn was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Patterson and an infant granddaughter, Nicole Patterson. Kathryn was born January 22, 1937 in Barney, Iowa, the daughter of Rufus and Mary Bell (Warren) Baker. She attended school in Peru and worked 27 years at Meredith Printing in Des Moines. She is survived by her children, Ken and Marge Patterson of Urbandale; Dan and Cindy Patterson of Winterset; Penny Patterson of Winterset; and Terri Halsted of Des Moines; eight grandchildren, Michelle Illian, Amey Money, Trent Patterson, Tim Halsted, John Halsted, Kristin Patterson, Mike Halsted, and Steve Thompson; six great grandchildren, and many more family and friends.
