Kathy Prickett, 60, of Indianola died, Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola with burial to immediately follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Indianola. A visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 21 in the Trinity United Presbyterian Church fellowship hall where family will be present to receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the church. Kathy Jolene McKasson was born February 27, 1953 in Burlington, Iowa; the daughter of Leolen ‘Ike’ and Beverly (Netley) McKasson. She was a 1971 graduate of Indianola High School and later attended Salvador Beauty School where she graduated in April of 1973. Her marriage to Rodney W. Prickett took place on July 28, 1973 at her parents’ home in Indianola and to this union four children were born. Kathy was a beautician for many years. She was an active member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church participating in many church activities. She was also involved with Rainbow Girls and served as Worthy Advisor in 1970. All this said; Kathy would most want to be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than time spent with her family. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Rodney Prickett of Indianola; children, Amanda King (Russ); Sarah Blakely (Brian) both of Indianola; Zack Prickett (Tina) of Hartford and Emily Prickett of Indianola and her grandchildren, Noah and Henry King and Logan Buchanan. She is also survived by her five siblings, Kevin McKasson (Nancy) of Indianola; Kristy English (Woody) of Sioux City; Kyle McKasson; Kerry McKasson, and Kim Brady (Daniel) all of Indianola; extended family and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two grandchildren; Samuel King and Laney Jo Prickett.
