Kathy (Thornburg) Faux

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 12th at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare. A visitation will be held 1 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 11th at the funeral home, with family present to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the McGinnis Cemetery, rural Madison County. Memorials to the family will be appreciated. Kathy Ann Thornburg was born January 27, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Betty (Schirner) Thornburg. Her marriage to Donald L. Faux, Sr. took place on February 14, 1958 in St. Charles, Iowa and this February they would have celebrated 54 years of marriage. Kathy was a homemaker. She liked to help others. She cut wood and would mow lawns for people, including mowing the Methodist Church lawn for many years. Kathy enjoyed painting, golfing and doing word finds. She especially enjoyed time spent with her kids and grandkids. Kathy died Monday, January 9, 2012 at her home. She was 71. Kathy is survived by her husband Donald of St. Charles; her three children, Donald (Mary) Faux, Jr. of St. Charles, Donna (Randy) Faux Grogan of West Des Moines, and Douglas (Jennifer) Faux of Des Moines; siblings, Norma Cooper, Judy Groetken, David Thornburg, Ruth Tyer, and Jennie Wilson; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Teresa) Faux, Eric Faux, Darcie (Chris) Fisher, Tiffany Grogan, Scott Grogan, Kelsey Faux and Jacob Faux; eight great-grandchildren, Jaelynn Faux, Makenzie Faux, Derek Faux, Apple Faux, Jacob Fisher, Lillian Fisher, Isaiah Keuhl, and Caleb Keuhl; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandchild, Amber Grogan.
