Keith Datwyler, 83, of Peru, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Peru Cemetery in Peru. Family will greet friends following the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Peru United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Keith was born in Winterset, Iowa on December 15, 1938, the son of Wilson and Marjorie (See) Datwyler. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1956 and was proud to be a “Peru Boy”. While in high school, he participated in track and placed third in the state for the half mile open his senior year. Keith was a farmer his entire life and also ran heavy equipment, which he greatly enjoyed. He worked for Henry Construction in Winterset and then Madison County. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing and rodeos where he participated in jackpot roping and bareback riding. In 1992, Keith was united in marriage to JoAnn Farver and their blended family included seven children. Keith and JoAnn enjoyed spending time with their family, traveling in their RV going many a mile seeing the highlights of many states and spending winters in Texas where they made many fond memories and friends. Keith is survived by his wife of 30 years, JoAnn Datwyler; children, Kirk (Pam) Datwyler, Marjorie (Jeff Miller) Datwyler, Delmar (Linda) Johnson, Ronald (Becky) Johnson, Marla (Marla Rigby) Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Lori (Bob) Pease. Keith is also survived by first cousin, Alan (Vicky) See and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
