Keith O. Nash, 91 of Urbandale passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, with a Visitation starting at 1:00 PM, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Keith was born September 15, 1923 in Mitchell, South Dakota. He graduated from Torreace California High School in 1941 and the Chicago Conservatory of Music in 1951. Keith held a world record in the Four-man two-mile race. Keith was a lifeguard for many years. He was married to Ruth (Suzy) Stuhlfaulth on July 16, 1949 in Chicago at 2nd Presbyterian Church. Keith was a Veteran having served in the Army Air Corp from 1942-1945. Keith played trombone professionally in the Chicago area before he started teaching as a Band Director and Vocal teacher in Wisconsin and Iowa before moving to Des Moines and started working for Miller Music before opening his own music store until he retired in 1992. Following retirement, Keith played with local bands and organizations. He was a member of the VFW Post 9668. Keith is survived by his wife of 65 years; Ruth (Suzy), his daughters; Mary (Al) Hyslope of Albia and Laura Miner of Altoona, 3 grandchildren; Al (Jennifer) Hyslope, John (Jennifer) Miner, and Jennifer (Steve) Havemann, 5 great-grandchildren; Ryan Hyslope, Katelyn Hyslope, Natalie Miner, Madelyn Miner, and Zoe Havemann; sister, Shirley Dimick. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son David Nash, and Daughter Barbara Jeffery.
