Memorial service for Kelani Pillani Torres, 58, who passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 8 at Caldwell Raddatz Funeral Home and Crematory in Urbandale. On November 23, 1955 a beautiful baby girl name Janice Piilani Palakiko was born to Joseph and Emily Palakiko in Honolulu, Hawaii. There were 11 children. She was adopted and raised by Soloman Mona & Margaret Hattie Kuapahi Kupihea. Her name became Kelani Piilani Kupihea. There were 14 children. Kelani is survived by her husband, Bruce Elias; children, Javan Kainoa (Mandy) Torres, Hildie Kelani (Michael) Lefler and Shantel Lehuanani (Jamie) Castille; grandchildren, Javan Jr (JJ), Bayden, Korrina Torres, Isaiah and Mikey Lefler, Hayli, Kaila and Zhayn Castille; siblings, Joseph (Joann) Palakiko, Ervin (Candy) Palakiko, Julie (Alton), Mary Watkins, Sharon Auguon, Wallace (Linda) Kuipea, Mary (Edwin), Deborah (Jack) Muff, Elaine (Rollins) Watson, George (Aileen) Kupihea, Yolanda (Patrick); sisters-in-law, Sally Ann Torres and Linda Lee (Ted) Wilterding. She was preceded in death by her siblings, James (Sharleen) Palakiko, Emily (Curtis) Evans, Happy (Henry) Collins, Allan Palakiko, Henry Peaches Kupihea, Soloman (Miriam) Kupihea, Henry (Loretta) Kupihea, Roy (Florence) Kupihea, George (Beverly) Kupihea, Martha (William) Witter, Dorothy (Christian) Goo, Rachel Poggie Goo and Yvonne (Frances) Shimakuburo; brothers-in-law, Stan Aguon and David Torres Sr. Memorial contributions may be given to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
