Kelly Gene Broyles

Kelly Gene Broyles, 67, of Adel, IA passed away on January 21, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA. He was born on July 30, 1957, in Des Moines, IA to Carol “Bill” and Dorothy Broyles.

Kelly approached life with an adventurous spirit and found joy in the simple pleasures. He was an outdoor enthusiast that lived his life to the fullest and made the most of every moment. He was a proud father of four who found joy in sharing countless stories and cherished memories, watching the Kansas City Chiefs play, and never missing a chance to cheer proudly as he watched his sons wrestle. Kelly treasured his high school years, forming lifelong friendships as a member of “The Denims”, creating wild and unforgettable experiences that lasted a lifetime. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars, spending endless hours restoring and admiring vintage models. Kelly cherished peaceful days spent fishing at his “secret spots” and loved the camaraderie of a good game of cribbage. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to create lasting memories with family and friends. 

Kelly is survived by his four children Buc Broyles (Emily Six), Sara Broyles (Chris Nichols), Carly Broyles (Jason Kajewski), and Wyatt Broyles (Emily Owen); four sisters Chris Pierce, Denise Moses, Shelly Broyles, and Bonnie Cummings (Ed Cummings); and 10 grandchildren. 

Kelly is preceded in death by his parents Carol “Bill” and Dorothy Broyles; sister Pam Broyles; and the mother of his children, Carla Williams. 

A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 at Panther Creek Church of the Brethren in Adel, IA. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm and funeral to follow at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the “Kelly Broyles Memorial” account at Raccoon Valley Bank. Kelly will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and will live on forever in our hearts.
