Kerry Morris

Kerry David Morris, 58, of Madrid, passed away unexpectedly at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on August 24, 2022. Kerry was born on September 24, 1963 in Des Moines, Iowa to Patrick and Patricia (Finchem) Morris. He was a 1982 graduate from Waukee High School. Over the years, he worked in the road maintenance department for the Iowa Department of Transportation. Kerry enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, cooking and smoking meats. He also liked to tinker and work with his hands. He liked to work on cars and other mechanicals in his spare time. He enjoyed lawn care and took pride in his work. Kerry loved to watch Jeopardy and watched it every day. He had a strong connection to animals and had the ability to make connections with them. Kerry loved a good thunderstorm and would turn all the lights off in the house just to take it all in. Kerry was a very humble, kind, fair and loving man. Kerry was very quick witted and had the ability to make anyone laugh. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His personality was infectious and he knew how to have a good time. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick James Morris. Kerry is survived by his wife, Lacie; mother, Patricia Morris; daughter, Chelsea (Christian) Brown; brothers, Kevin Morris, Kelly Morris, and K.C. Morris; sister, Kristin (Dennis) Morris-Devitte; one granddaughter, Olive; and step-grandchildren, Caleb, Reese, Jessica, Ella. Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Kerry.
