In Loving Memory of Kirk Gustafson

Kirk Gustafson, beloved father, brother, son, and friend, left us on July 25, 2023, at the age of 57. Born on April 23, 1966, in DeWitt, Iowa, Kirk was a remarkable man with a passion for life and an unwavering love for cars.

Kirk's enthusiasm for automobiles was evident throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time at car shows, and his prized possession was a classic car that he proudly showcased at the Cars and Coffee events. To keep himself occupied and connect with people, he bartended on weekends as a fulfilling hobby. He also found joy in building model cars, a pastime that allowed him to combine his love for vehicles with creativity.

He graduated from North Scott High School. Kirk pursued his higher education at the University of Iowa. For the better part of his career, he worked diligently at Mediacom from 2005 until his passing, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and dedication.

He was a loving and devoted father to his son Elijah Gustafson, a beacon of strength and guidance in Elijah's life. Kirk's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.

Kirk is survived by his siblings Tracy, Leasa, Ann, Cassie, Jesi, and Anthony who shared many precious moments and memories with him throughout their lives. In addition, he leaves behind his stepmother Debbie Gustafson, and his stepfather, David Aldape, who stood by his side through thick and thin, creating a loving and supportive family bond. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

As we bid farewell to Kirk Gustafson, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives, his adventurous spirit, and his genuine love for all things that took flight or rode on wheels. He will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.

A memorial service to celebrate Kirk's life will be held at 5:30 PM on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Giovannetti Shelter 8900 Douglas Ave. Urbandale, IA 50322.
