Kristi Wood

Kristi was born to Northa and John Albaugh on June 26, 1952 in Mason City, Iowa. She died April 25, 2022 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center after a recent diagnosis of advanced stage 4 lung cancer. She desperately wanted more time with her family and fought hard until her last breath. Kristi graduated from Des Moines’ Roosevelt High School in 1969 and then attended Drake University to pursue her passion of art. She was the office manager at Curtis Wood Roofing, Inc. for many years before retiring from DART in 2018. Kristi enjoyed music, fishing, golf, and traveling, but her true love was spending time with her family. Kristi is survived by her daughters, Molly (Tim) Quick and Stacey (Ryan) Metzger; their father, Larry Wood; grandchildren Mollie and Iain Quick and Jack Metzger; brothers Jay and Bob Albaugh; bonus mom Lu Albaugh; lifelong friend Sheri Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Northa Sedars, and brothers Kent and John Albaugh. At Kristi’s request, she will be cremated and no services are planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date
