Laberta B. Kester - Adel

LaBerta Belle Kester died January 17, 2016 at Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2016 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. LaBerta has been cremated and private family disposition will be at a later date. Family will greet friends briefly after the memorial services. LaBerta was born to Donald and Inez Linn on September 30, 1937 in Des Moines. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. She worked at Polk County Medical Society, was a business owner of Swan Creek Consignment Shop in Adel for several years, and was a retired homemaker who very proudly and joyfully raised seven children. LaBerta enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren visiting Spirit Lake, trips to Colorado and Wisconsin, and loved the holidays when her family traveled back to Iowa. She enjoyed listening to country music, loved animals who needed a home, and enjoyed making people smile and laugh. LaBerta is survived by her children, Randy Kester of Appleton, WI; Kelly Garcia of Louisville, CO; Patrick Kester of Des Moines, IA; Erin Williams of Longmont, CO; Kolby Kester of Earlham, IA and 9 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Inez Linn; her husband, Ronald Kester; son, Brian Kester of Adel and daughter, Amy Sands of Aberdeen, NC.
