Lajune Laura Becker Majerus

LaJune Laura Majerus, was born June 27, 1921 near Manilla, Iowa to Henry Fredrick Ranniger and Anna Marguerita Schmielau and died April 26, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 86 Years, 9 Months, and 29 Days. While growing up, she helped in the farm, and graduated from Manilla High School at age 16. She married Edward Anton Becker on February 18, 1941 in Dedham, IA, they were parents of Kathleen, Jerilyn, Roger, Betty, Pam, and Dave. They lived in the Dedham and Coon Rapids areas. On December 16, 1981, she married Henry Majerus. LaJune retired in 1981 from Woodward and lived in Des Moines. She enjoyed dancing, especially at the Val Air Ballroom or Lake Robbins, the Kenny Hoffer Band, sewing, quilting, making "Grandma Patches", camping, fishing, and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Bill Schmitz, Jerilyn and Bob Olesen; 3 brothers, Melvin, Leonard, and Myron Ranniger; 5 sisters, Elvira Gadient, Eldren Popp, Verena Lingle, Wilma and Thelma Ranniger. LaJune is survived by her sons, Roger Becker (Rose) of Willey, Iowa, and Dave Becker (Cari Bregar) of Des Moines, Iowa; daughters, Betty Thomas (Don) of Perry, Iowa, and Pam (Dean) Berkland of Perry, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 sister, Veronice Durbin(Lynn) of Jefferson, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
