Lana Gerene Grandfield, 69, of Winterset, Iowa, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, July 13, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Rev. Dr. Ronald Yarnell and Rev. Kimberly Bowles officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery. Lana was born on August 9, 1947 in Creston, Iowa to Robert and Ruby (Zuber) Moffitt. She graduated from East Union Jr/Sr High School, Afton, Iowa in 1965 and then attended and graduated from Americana Beauty School. Lana married Glen Grandfield on April 16, 1966 at Lorimor, Iowa. They lived on a farm in Thayer until 1988, when they moved to Winterset. Lana became a florist and together Lana and Glen owned and operated Bank’s Floral in Winterset for 31 years. Lana had been a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pythian Sisters, and the National Florist Association. Lana is survived by her husband, Glen Grandfield of Winterset; children, Michelle Grandfield of Cedar Rapids and Bryan (Christy) Grandfield of Afton; grandson, Brody Grandfield; sister, Linda Kelley of Osage Beach, MO; and nephews, Scott and Bob Eisbrenner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby (Zuber) Moffitt; and grandson, Sam Grandfield. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 8 PM at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church.
