Larry D. Root

Larry Dean Root died Saturday July 18, 2009 at the Dallas County hospital of Perry at the age of 68 years, 5 months, and 25 days. He was born on January 23, 1941 to Henry Merton and Florence Eiteman Root in Woodward. Larry grew up in Woodward and attended school there. After school, Larry moved to Perry where he lived until his death. In June of 1963 he married Sandra Wenzel at the First United Methodist Church in Perry. They were parents of two daughters, Lori and Lisa. Later he married Barbara Theulen and gained three step sons; Frank, Robert, and Jack. Larry worked as a landscaper at the Granger Golf Course and then at Pioneer Hi-bred International until he retired. Larry enjoyed fishing, cooking, NASCAR, WWE and in general a T.V. fan. He liked to dance, especially in earlier years. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leslie. He is survived by daughters: Lori Anderson (Kenny) of Luther, Lisa Kifer (Charles) of Dallas Center; step Sons: Frank Theulen (Roberta) of Scranton, Robert Theulen of Arkansas, and Jack Theulen of Texas; eight step- grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
