Lavonne "Bonnie" Thompson

A public graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Valley View Cemetery in Perry. Lavonne Hazel "Bonnie" Thompson, daughter of Harvey Earl Arrowsmith and Ivalee Helen Hemm Arrowsmith, was born September 11, 1953 in Ayshire, Iowa and died May 22, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 65. Bonnie lived in Carroll, then Perry where she graduated high school in 1972. On June 5, 1974 Bonnie and David McCollum were united in marriage. The couple was blessed with a daughter Christina. Bonnie was a hard worker! She was a CNA and worked at Granger Manor, Stine Seed and various retail stores. Bonnie loved garage sales, flowers, shoes, purses and crochet. Most of all she loved her family especially her grandchildren. On August 26, 1988 Bonnie and Robert Ray "Bob" Thompson were united in marriage in Perry, Iowa where the couple made their home. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Ivalee Arrowsmith and her sister Julia Arrowsmith. Bonnie is survived by her husband Bob Thompson of Perry, IA; daughter Christina McCollum of Bradgate, IA; three grandchildren: Alexander McCollum, Chase Evans and Zackary Evans; Father-in-law Tim Thompson of Des Moines, IA; mothers-in-law Barbara Scott (Gary) of Washington and Sherry Thompson of Redfield; niece Theresa Salts (Kendall) of Perry, IA; great-niece Cheyenne; great-nephew Andrew; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
