Leah A. Wallace

Leah A. Wallace, 103, of Boone (formerly of Winterset), passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone. A committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m., at the Graceland Cemetery, Creston. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Leah Arlene Baker was born in Clarke County, Iowa on June 17, 1918, the daughter of Jasper Lee and Bertha (Miller) Baker. She was united in marriage to Harold Wallace in October 1939. She was a department store clerk in Cedar Rapids for many years. Her husband, Harold preceded her in death on March 21, 1969. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Wallace; and several siblings. Leah is survived by her children, Deborah Wallace of Jefferson and Craig (Ann) Wallace of Ogden; sister, Gertrude Benedict of Osceola; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
