Lelah (Hochstetler) Luckinbill, 93, of Dexter, Iowa died Friday, August 26, 2005 at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset. Survivors include her two sons, Jim Hochstetler and wife, Kaye of Winterset; Charles Hochstetler and wife, Karen of Winterset; a daughter, Betty Hochstetler and husband, Jim Gogerty of Des Moines; 2 step-children, David Luckinbill and wife, Mary of Dexter and Cheryl Straub and husband, Dennis of Winston Salem, NC; a sister-in-law, Anna Hochstetler Brown of Earlham; 8 grandchildren, Mike Hochstetler and Kimberly; Kevin Hochstetler and Stacia; Kelly Hochstetler and Brian Jenison; Russ Hochstetler and Janis; Susan Aman and Ahsan, Kenneth B. Luckinbill and Sue; Daina McKeever and Matthew; and Ermiece Struab; 11 great grandchildren, Corinne, Elyssa, Mason, Joshua, Ashely, Tyler, Noah, Brooke, Crystal, Tristan and Deven. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul, her second husband, Kenneth, her parents, and two brothers, Merle and Ivan Russell. Lelah was born December 22, 1911 north of Stuart, Iowa in Guthrie County, the daughter of Lewis and Maude (Bryant) Russell. She married Paul Hochstetler on December 22, 1933 at Lelah’s parent’s home and to this union three children were born, Jim, Betty, and Charles. Paul preceded her in death in September of 1977. She later married Kenneth Luckinbill on January 2, 1979 at the Presbyterian Church in Pitzer. Kenneth preceded her in death on August 13, 2005. Lelah was a homemaker, raising her children and helping on the family farm. She was a member of the Pitzer Presbyterian Church, the Pitzer Missionary Society, and played piano for many years at her church. Visitation: Noon to 8:00 p.m., Monday, with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., August 29, 2005 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the Pitzer Presbyterian Church, Madison County. Memorial: Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
