Leo Jonathan Markus

Leo Jonathan Markus, infant son of Jon and Dani Markus, gained his angel wings after a courageous fight with an in utero CMV infection on May 20, 2019, at 29 weeks gestational age. His parents cherished each ultrasound to get a peek at their sweet boy and quickly learned his favorite habits. They are comforted to know he was never alone and was always kept warm, hearing his mother’s heart beat and his parents’ voices for the entirety of his life. Leo strongly resembled his big sister, and had his daddy’s energy and his mommy’s perseverance. Leo’s life was anxiously anticipated and will be forever cherished by his parents, Jon and Dani; his loving sister, Eden; maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited for a time of comfort and support with Leo’s family on Tuesday May 28, 2019, from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Caldwell Parrish McCalley Chapel in Adel, IA. A private family burial will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery. The non-profit organization Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep provided a volunteer photographer to give the priceless gift of memories to Leo’s family.
