Leonard Wilber of Norwalk IA, 79, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Easter Sunday April 17, 2022. Leonard was born to Orlan and Zita (Comfort) Wilber in Creston, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Roger Wilber and grandson Justin Westfall. He is survived by long-time partner Dian Spake, daughter Lori Wilber Des Moines, IA, daughter Missy Lose (husband Steve) Menlo, IA, son Jeff Wilber (partner Tami Chesnut) Ankeny, IA, stepdaughters Melanie Brauer Waukee, IA and Meliha Hussain Sunnyvale, CA, stepson Eric Erickson Bondurant, IA, grandchildren as follows; Nicholas and Kennedy Lose, Jaedon and Aydria Wilber, Devin Brauer and Archer Erickson, great-grandchildren Mia and Avery Lose. Sister Marcella Waltz (Jack), brother Larry Wilber (Betty), and sister Rosella Lamb (late husband Jim). Leonard was a self-described country boy/cowboy who loved building classic cars/street-rods. For many years his “built from the ground up” cars were seen all over the United States and Street Scene Magazine. He and his family participated in car shows and rallies on most weekends throughout the summers and worked on his cars year-round. In his later years he and long-time partner Dian traveled, rode, and camped with their horses in many parts of the country. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends often. A Celebration of Life and Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 2-4pm at Caldwell-Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA 50322. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to your local Hospice, Wesley Woods Camp and Retreat Center, Indianola, IA or the Parkinson's Foundation.
