Leroy Edwin Hefflefinger

Leroy Edwin Hefflefinger, son of Lester Hefflefinger and Mildred Blum Hefflefinger was born January 10, 1930 in Grand Junction, Iowa and died at his home in Perry at teh age of 76 years, 11 months and 29 days. Leroy graduated from Franklin Twp. High School, in Cooper, Iowa with thec lass of 1947. He later lived in Deep River. Leroy married Edith Stanley on July 29, 1951 in Villisca, Iowa. They were parents of two children, Donna and Kenneth. Leroy served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 and was stationed in Trieste, Italy. In 1955 Leroy moved to Perry to work for Harvey Siglin in his plumbing and heating business. He started his own business, Leroy's Plumbing and Heating in 1962 and retired in 2000. Leroy was an active member of First Christian Church where he willingley ushered for funerals and also taught adult sunday school for many years. He stayed busy in the community, serving on the Airport Commission, Vice President of Abilities Unlimited, American Legion, Otley Masoonic Lodge, auxiliary policeman andin earlier years drive ambulance. leroy served on the Perry City Council for 4 years and was a member of the Fire Department for 25 years. Leroy was preceded in deathy by his parents; two brothers, Don and Charles Keith. He is survived by his wife, Edith; daighter, Donna Spencer(Gary); son, Kenneth Hefflefinger9Vicki); 9 grandchildren, Shari Bush(Dan), Tshanta Spencer, Jeff Luke(Joy), Jeremy Frease(Jennifer), Chad Frease, Alyssa Hefflefinger, Heather Nelson(Brian), April Tierney,(Pat) and Craig Davis, He is also survived by 16 great-grandchilren, Danelle, Amber, Dylan, Sierra, Spencer, Erika, Alexandra, Gabrielle, Rachel, Kaden, Zackary, Blake, Hailey, Brenden, Jackson, and Grant; sister, Clara Gourley; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Hefflefinger, and Avonnele Hefflefinger; nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and many friends.
