A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, with family present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Winterset. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family. LeRoy was born April 11, 1938 in Red Oak, Iowa; the son of Walter and Juanita (Penry) Saveraid. He graduated from Waterloo East High School, class of 1957. He married his first wife, Mildred Ennenga in 1961 and to this union three children were born, Pam, Lee, and Mark. LeRoy later married Donna Ostercamp on March 31, 1984 in Waterloo, Iowa and to this union two children were born, Curtis and Megan. LeRoy was a truck driver with his dad for a number of years and a contract hauler for the Postal Service before working for Rock Island Millwork from 1969 to 1981. He was a contract hauler for the Des Moines Register from 1974 to 1980 and was most recently a self-employed carpenter. LeRoy attended the First Baptist Church of Winterset. He was a collector of antique Farmall tractors and was founder of the Covered Bridges of Madison County Tractor Rides, soon to celebrate its tenth year. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and watching westerns. LeRoy died Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset. He was 73. He is survived by his wife Donna of Lorimor; his children, Pam (Brian) Baker of Waterloo, Lee Saveraid of Des Moines, Mark Saveraid of Waterloo, Curtis (Jami) Saveraid of Winterset, and Megan Saveraid (Mark Banes) of Winterset; two sisters, Norma (Manly) Orum of Waterloo and Juanita (Roger) Kottman of Illinois; a brother, Palmer Saveraid of Florida; two grandchildren, Evan and Nolan Saveraid; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Wayne Saveraid in 2010.
