Lewis Leroy Kendall

Lewis LeRoy "Mike" Kendall Sr., son of Leo Herbert Kendall and Myrtle Jeanette Pierson Kendall, was born July 13, 1948 in Jefferson and died December 1, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 62 years. Lewis, fondly known as Mike, graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967. Mike married Kathy Battles on February 6, 1970. The couple made their home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for two years, before returning to live in Jefferson. He worked for Star Carriers and later started a tree service. Mike specialized in auto repair, and later worked with John Battles at Battles Auto Repair in Jefferson. His wife Kathy died February 15, 1996. Mike moved to Gibbon, Nebraska 7 years ago. Mike married Linda Sue Stroup Madison on June 19, 2010. He enjoyed watching auto racing, working with his hands and creating items of wood and metal. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; wife Kathy, son Mark in September of 1996, nephew Earl Sloan and great nephew Lyndon Lawrence. He will be lovingly remember by his wife Linda of Gibbon, sons Michael Anthony "Tony" Kendall and wife Jolene of Redfield, Lewis LeRoy Kendall Jr. and wife Maria of Marshalltown, Sam Kendall and wife Amanda of Carroll, sister LaNetta Sloan of Jefferson, 21 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, step daughter MeLinda Madison of Gibbon, NE and step son Donnie Madison of Jefferson, other relatives and friends.
