Lillian Herridge

Lillian Herridge "Lil" was born June 17, 1943 in Lewisport, Kentucky to Albert Griffin and Grace Myrtle (Estes) Cooper. She attended school in Kentucky until she was 12 years old, then her family moved to Cooper, Iowa. In 1958 she married Ronald James Tucker and the couple was blessed with two children: Belinda Anne and Thomas James. They later divorced. Lillian and her family lived in Jefferson, Ia. where she worked at Super Value grocery store and the Jefferson Manor. In 1974 she found love again with Gordon Eugene Herridge. The couple had a son, Sean. Lillian enjoyed embroidery, crafts, wood working, and spending time with her family and friends. She worked for Genesis Development and Imagine The Possibilities for fourteen years as a Direct Support Professional. Lil died June 15, 2023 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Ia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon, son Thomas James Tucker, two stepdaughters: Mary Ladessa Johnston and Laura Benedean Rutherford "Ben", four brothers: Richard Cooper, Bill Cooper, Rodney Cooper, and Milton Cooper, and one sister Ethel Hurley. She is survived by her daughter Linda Anne Karber of Jefferson; son Sean Eugene Herridge (fiance Janine) of Fort Dodge; stepson Gordon Eugene Herridge Jr. (Janet) of Jefferson; stepdaughters Vicky Dalene Herridge of Jefferson and DeeAnn Marie Estrada of San Antonio, TX; eighteen grandchildren: Jamie Biggart, Jon Biggart (Stacey), Seth Karber (Hannah), Amanda Tucker Davis, Brandon Tucker, Natasha Tucker, Anthony Tucker, Nicole Tucker, Rob Herridge, Ben Herridge, Roger Herridge, Dolores Herridge, Dawan Orfield Dibbern, David Orfield, Eric Rutherford, Evan Rutherford, Mario Estrada, and Miranda Estrada; numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives, and many friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 1, 2023 at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson, Iowa A Celebration of Life and burial will take place at a later date in Wright Cemetery.
