Linda Marie Peacock

Linda Marie Peacock, age 73, of Clive, Iowa passed away October 7th, 2021 after a 2 year struggle with cancer. Linda was born in 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Saint Joseph Academy in 1966 and then attended Mercy School of Nursing and received her Registered Nurse Degree. She also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Drake University. Linda spent her adult life as nurse. She had broad experience in nursing. She worked as a hospital nurse, nursing supervisor, office nurse in her husband’s family practice office, nurse educator, home health nurse, and public health nurse. She organized flu programs for Polk County Health Department. Her passion for giving flu shots was obvious. She was assisted by her team of “Fluzies” who meant the world to her. Linda also served as a nurse for 17 years in the air national guard achieving the rank of Major. She met her husband Tom Peacock in high school and they reconnected in 1976. They married in 1977 with their son Ted being born several years later. They enjoyed 44 years of happiness together. Linda was predeceased by her parents Francis and Maxine Damiani, Grandparents, Dominic and Mary Damiani, and her sister-in- law Jackie Damiani. She is survived by husband Tom (Dr. Thomas Peacock), her son Ted, her brother Jim Damiani (JoAnn) , sisters Patricia Machir(John) and Nancy Damiani, Uncle Tony Damiani, 6 nieces and 8 nephews and many cousins. Linda was a kind and loving individual. She devoted her whole life to caring for the health of other individuals. She was an empathetic person, an excellent listener, and had a kind word for everyone she came in contact with. Linda enjoyed loving relationships with her husband, son, and siblings. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that could brighten everyone’s day. Those who knew Linda are well aware of the special relationship she had with her cats. She received much comfort from spending time with her cat Scooter especially at the end of her life. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. May she rest in eternal peace. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church, West Des Moines, IA on Wednesday, October 13, 11:30 AM family meet and greet, 12:30 Mass, and interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to UnityPoint hospice or MercyOne hospice.
