A celebration of life service for Linda Sue Madison-Kendall was held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at The Dwelling Place in Jefferson. Visitation was two hours prior to the service. Pastor Rod Block of The Dwelling Place provided words of comfort. Honorary bearers were Jesse Hodges, Amos Stroup, Dwayne Stroup and Ron Pike. Pastor Tom Hinote played the keyboard and J. D. Hinote was soloist. Music chosen was: The Old Rugged Cross, In the Garden, Angels and The Dance. Following the service was a luncheon in the Dwelling Place lounge. Interment was at the West Cemetery in Panora, Iowa. Linda Sue Madison-Kendall, daughter of James B. Stroup and Roberta Mae Bacon was born on April 3, 1953 in Iowa City, Iowa and died at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa on August 28, 2013 at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 26 days. She was raised in and around the Panora area where she attended school. Linda married Donnie Madison, Sr. on January 5, 1974 in Perry and the couple had two children, Donnie L. Madison, Jr. and MeLinda M. A. Madison. They lived in the Panora and Perry area. She later married Lewis "Mike" Kendall on June 19, 2010 and the couple lived in Gibbon, Nebraska and Carroll. Linda was a homemaker and loved animals, especially horses and cats. She also enjoyed watching Nascar racing with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. being one of her favorite drivers. She liked to work with puzzle books and to crocheting. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mike, two sisters; Charity Stroup and Laura Pike and one brother, Gene Bacon. She is survived by her children Donnie L. Madison, Jr. of Manning and MeLinda Madison of Jefferson; four grandchildren; three brothers: Amos Stroup (Tina) of Clarksville, TN; Dwayne Stroup (Vivian) of Clarksville, TN and Ron Pike (Gayle) of Jefferson; two sisters: Helen Hodges (Jesse) of Conway, S.C. and Barb Stroup (John Herring) of Phoenix, AZ.; aunts, uncles and many other relatives and friends.
