Linda Willem

Linda Willem, 82, passed away on October 12, 2021. She was born on December 1, 1938 to Carl and Marian “Lindahl” Johnson in Burlington, Iowa. On February 11, 1961, Linda married the love of her life Roger. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2021. As a child, Linda entertained passengers on the Delta Queen. Linda worked as a travel agent for many years. In addition, she was a volunteer at St. Stephen Lutheran Church delivering flowers to nursing homes and other places. She also volunteered in the memory care unit at the Jewish Life Center. Linda had a passion for baking, she made sure everyone had their favorites from Swedish Rye bread to French silk pie. Linda loved life and parties, leaving everyone with many hilarious memories of her. Linda is survived by her husband Roger; children Brian (Beth) and their children, Kathleen, Megan (Corey), David (Callie); Lisa (Dave) Fellman and their children, Nick and Julia Noah; Steve and his children, Nathan, Jacob, and Tyler; and daughter-in-law Amy Willem. Linda was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory, 8201 Hickman Rd., Urbandale, IA 50322. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Following the service will be a burial at Glendale Cemetery and then a celebration of life at the Cottontail Lounge in Urbandale. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Stephen Lutheran Church or to the Des Moines Public Library Foundation.
