Lorraine Marie Straight

Lorraine Marie Straight, of Adel, Iowa died Saturday, September 30, 2017 in her own home surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10.00AM Thursday, October 5, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Adel. Family will greet friends Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at McCalley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Lorraine was born on January 17, 1922 in Sioux City, Iowa to Leonard and Helen (Weber) Mogren. Lorraine enjoyed reading, playing bridge, gardening, antiquing and watching Cyclone sports. Lorraine diligently kept a watchful eye out for her beloved Adel and its brick streets. She is survived by her children, John (Beverley) Heimes of Bend, OR, Barbara (Michael) Marr of Westfield, WI, and Steven Straight of Adel; daughter-in-law, Lupita Straight of Chicago, IL; step children, Bill Allen of Pyler, TX, Barbara McDonald of Fairgrove, MO, and Tim Allen of Platte City, MO; grandchildren, Ronald Heimes of Vancouver, WA, David Heimes of Anchorage, AK, Tim Straight of Boston, MA, David Straight of Denver, CO, Erich Marr of Arlington Heights, IL, and Kathryn Marr Brueggen of Cashton, WI; step grandchildren, Don, David, John, Dan, Tom, and Amber; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John W. Heimes, Sr., Lee H. Straight, and Wilbur Allen; her sons, James Straight and Thomas Straight; brothers, Richard Mogren and Dale Mogren; her special sister-in-law, Margaret Easton; and her loving cat, Chessie. Lorraine will be missed by her many friends and her companion pet, Kitty Cat.
