Louis Charles Kirk

Louis Kirk passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, November 9th at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter. Family will greet friends Wednesday, November 8th at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. Louis was born February 19, 1943 to George and Gertrude Kirk. He graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1961. He served in the US Navy from 1961-1965. He loved The American Legion and served as Department (State) Commander in 1998-1999. He was whole heartedly involved for his entire adult life. He belonged to the Adel American Legion Post #464. He also belonged to VFW and 40 + 8. Louis is survived lovingly, by the love of his life, his wife, Fran; his children, Melanie, Amber, Heath, Derek, Shelli, Crystal, Amie, Cindy, Tina, Robert, Deanna and Lisa; 21 grandchildren, which includes his special pride and joy, Nic; five great grandchildren, two sisters, Cindi Hester and Lisa Brooks, and his beloved American Legion Family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude; son, James, and sisters, Sharon and Mickey.
