Lowell Marshall Dallas Center Lowell Marshall, 94, passed away April 6, 2016 at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center lovingly surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Panther Creek Church of the Brethren in Adel. Burial with military honors will follow at Church of the Brethren Cemetery at Panther Creek. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, April 8 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel where family will greet friends from 4-7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Lowell Marshall was born August 20, 1921 to Carl and Angela (Hess) Marshall in Davis County, IA. He graduated from Moulton High School in 1938. He joined the Army Air Core between 1942 and 1945 and was an airplane mechanic and crew chief of a B26. On April 14, 1946 he married Marcia Myers at Panther Creek Church of the Brethren in Adel, IA. Lowell farmed in the Panther community northwest of Adel for over 45 years, and was a Red Coat Volunteer at Lutheran Hospital for over 5,000 hours for which he received many honors. One he was especially proud of was the Red Cross recognition “Hero of the Heartland”. He was on many boards and committees over the years and was a faithful member of the Panther Creek Church of the Brethren serving as a deacon emeritus. He was known for his love of music, especially Gaither and Acapella 4 part harmony. He loved his family, guitars, Buick cars and Oliver tractors. Lowell was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia; his parents, and a brother, Lyle. Lowell is survived by his sons, Chuck (Gene), Kevin (Deloris), Kris (Michelle), Clarke (Melody); daughter, Karla Conner (Timothy); grandchildren, Trish Smith (Jim), Kim Bledsoe (Jason), Amanda Marshall, Hanna Hoskins (Joel), Dan, Ross (Katie), Alec, Colton and Carson Marshall, James, Caitlin and Jessica Conner; great grandchildren, Kerstin and Hallie Bledsoe, Zachary and Izabelle Smith; 2 sisters, Lorene Hoover and Letha Neely and a brother, Loran Marshall (Mary Anne). Memorial contributions may be directed to Panther Creek Church of the Brethren or Lutheran Hospital. Online condolences may be left at this site.
