Lucile Wycoff, 78, of Winterset, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Madison County Health Care System in Winterset. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 14, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset with burial to follow in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials to the VFW Auxiliary and/or the First United Presbyterian Church, both of Winterset and online condolences may be left at ochiltree.com. Lucile Mae Werts, daughter of Loyal and Phyllis (Frey) Werts, was born May 1, 1938, in Winterset. She attended school in Earlham and graduated from Earlham High School. Lucile was united in marriage with Gerald Wycoff on November 28, 1958, at the Presbyterian Church in Earlham. Gerald died in 1967 and Lucile married Harold “Red” Wycoff in 1970. Lucile worked for Flander & Casper Law as a secretary for many years and later worked at Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Des Moines for ten years. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Winterset and the VFW Auxiliary of Winterset, where she had been a past president. Lucile enjoyed spending her free time camping, bowling, and volunteering. She was an organizer and volunteer for many VFW and First United Presbyterian Church events and managed the use of the VFW Hall for many years. Recently Lucile enjoyed printing pictures off of Facebook of her family and friends. Above all else, she was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family. Lucile is survived by three daughters, Sheryl (Tim) Nichols of Indianola; Becky (Rich) Leazenby of Amarillo, TX; Patty Wycoff of Winterset; sisters, Dorothy Smith of Grinnell; Carolyn Hibbs of Vinton; brothers, Dick (Kay) Werts of Earlham; Harry (Judy) Werts of Des Moines; six grandchildren, Tim (Mackenzie) Nichols; Jordan Nichols; April (Cuyler) Sutton; Ben Leazenby; Brooke Schaffer, Dylan Schaffer; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald Wycoff in 1967; husband, Harold Wycoff in 2001; brother, Jim Werts; brothers-in-law, Bill Smith and Mike Hibbs.
