Luise Foster

She is survived by her children, Richard L. Foster and wife, Janice of Norwalk, Iowa; Virginia Deaton and her husband, John of Des Moines, Iowa; Charles V. Foster, Jr., and his wife, Susan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Teena L. Housman and her husband, Terry of Winterset, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jaime Wolfe, John Deaton Jr., Jeffrey Foster, Joseph Deaton and one great-grandchild, Jacob Foster. Her parents and her husband preceded her in death. Luise was born March 14, 1931 in Langquaid, Germany, the daughter of Max and Henrietta (Jäger) Schmutterer. Her marriage to Charles Foster took place on July 14, 1947 in Austria. To this union four children were born, Richard, Virginia, Charles and Teena. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and farm wife, assisting her husband in the management and operation of the family farm. Luise also did demonstrations at the Indianola Wal-Mart and liked to go to flea markets, which she did for many years. She loved cooking, and was a German baker. She liked to work in her garden and give it all away and bake cookies and give them all away. Visitation: 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, where the family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. January 25, 2004 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare Service: 10:30 a.m, Monday January 26, 2004 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare Memorial: Memorials may be directed to Kiya Koda Humane Society, 1206 N. Jefferson Street, Indianola, Iowa, 50125 ~ 515-961-7080. A reception will follow the committal at the Patterson United Methodist Church, Patterson, Iowa. Montpelier Cemetery, Patterson, Iowa.
