Lyle Dean Hoffman

Lyle Dean Hoffman, son of Byron "Bud" Hoffman and Joanne Murphy Hoffman, was born February 4, 1951 in Perry, Iowa. When Lyle was only 2 years old his mother passed away. He then went to live with his grandparents Harold and Helga Hoffman in Bagley, Iowa. Lyle's dad remarried in 1957, and he not only gained a stepmother Ruth Hoffman, but also a brother Richard, 2 sisters Ruthann and Jeannette, and a year later another sister Debbie. Lyle graduated from YJB in 1969. After high school he worked as a Welder for Straight Engineering, and at Adel Brick & Tile. He loved the outdoors, gardening, golfing, camping, and canoeing. Lyle also loved cooking fish, playing cards, dominos, and socializing with his friends and family. He was a collector of pins, playing cards, and shot glasses. Lyle died February 12, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He is preceded in death by his father Byron "Bud", mother Joanne, stepmother Ruth, grandparents, and nephews Gary Snowgren and Jerry Hornsby Jr. Lyle is survived by his sisters Ruth Ann Cosner, Jeannette Hornsby, and Debbie McAllister; nieces and nephews: Amy Tasler, (Brian Clausen), Alex Tasler, Sue Reed, Mike Allen, Bobby Allen, Charmalee White, Christine Moran; longtime companion Lori Wetzel, and her son Seth and her grandchildren whom he adored; good golfing buddy Dennis; aunts, uncles, many cousins, other relatives and friends.
