Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements for Madge Elizabeth Silvers, 88, of Boone formerly of Perry. Mrs. Silvers died at the Eastern Star Masonic in Boone on Wednesday, April 04, 2018. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry with burial at Valley View Cemetery in Perry. Family will be there at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service for viewing. Madge is survived by her sons David Springer (Kathryn) of Boone, IA; Jim Springer of Phoenix, AR; Michael Springer of Campo, CA and daughter Holly Dellaca (Mike) of Huxley, IA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters Mary Kay and Martella of Tulsa, OK and Madonna Moess of Montana. Madge Elizabeth Silvers, daughter of Zennie Lincoln Crowell and Mildred Kurtz Crowell, was born June 16, 1929 at Iowa Lutheran in Des Moines. Madge went to school at Washington consolidation school and after high school she attended Perry Jr. College and later went to Des Moines Area Community College. Madge spent her early life in Perry then moved to Des Moines in 1969 and in 2009 she moved to Boone. Madge worked for the American Republic Insurance Company. She enjoyed fishing, craft shows, country music and dancing. Madge spent many years at the White House in Des Moines as a member of the AA. Madge died April 04, 2018 at Eastern Star Masonic in Boone. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and caretakers. Madge was preceded in death by her parents, daughter in law Anne Springer, Grandchildren Eric and Steven Springer. Left to Cherish her memory are her sons David Springer (Kathryn) of Boone; Jim Springer of Phoenix, AR; Michael Springer of Campo, CA; and daughter Holly Dellaca (Mike) of Huxley; grandchildren: Sarah Johnson (Matt) of Bondurant; Allison Romain-Dika (Richard) of Seattle, WA; Alex Springer of San Diego, CA; Emilie Springer of Pahrump, Nevada; Mike Dellaca of Des Moines; Thomas Dellaca of Los Angeles, CA and Kirsten Dellaca of Des Moines. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Luke, Emma and Cole Johnson, Leila Romain-Dika and Lorelei Wernau; her sisters Mary Kay King and Martella Subana of Tulsa, OK; Madonna Moess of Hamilton, Montana; many cousins; other relatives and friends.
