Mae M. (Molln) King

January 31, 1917 — October 19, 2005

Prior to her marriage, Mae taught country school. She was later a homemaker and lived on the family farm near Van Wert that she and her husband, Walt, purchased in 1947. Mae also worked for O’Bryan Brothers in Leon, of which she retired. She enjoyed quilting and after retiring joined the quilters at the Senior Center in Osceola. Mae attended St. Bernard’s Catholic Church of Osceola and was a member of St. Brenden’s Catholic Church in Leon from 1947-1986. Mae M. (Molln) King, 88, of Osceola, Iowa died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at her home at Casual Living in Osceola. Mae is survived by her three daughters, Evelyn Morey (Tom) of Los Alamitos, CA, Bobbie Kennedy (Jack) of Winterset, and Mary Plieseis-King (Ed Todd) of Broken Arrow, OK; a daughter-in-law, Martha King of Abilene, TX; two sisters, Irene Eversull of Greenfield and Vera Cook of Ames; a brother Fred Molln (Betty) of Greenfield; nine grandchildren, including Carol Kennedy-Dill (Monty) of Redlands, CA and Michael Kennedy (Jill) of Minneapolis, MN; six great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walt; an infant son, Marven; and a son, Gene. Mae was born January 31, 1917 in Orient, Iowa, the daughter of Marven and Leona (Jensen) Molln. She married Walter F. King on November 25, 1939 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Irish Settlement, near Cumming. Visitation: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2005 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, with a Rosary following at 7:30 p.m. Service: 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2005 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Osceola. Memorial: Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Osceola Senior Center both of Osceola.
