Majetta "Sally" Lou Johnson Stanton, daughter of Arthur V. Johnson and Velma Violet VanTress Johnson was born February 2, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa and died January 14, 2005 at the Perry Health Care Center in Perry, Iowa at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 12 days. Sally was raised and attended school in Des Moines, graduating from North High School. On November 5, 1947, Sally was united in marriage to George Minor Stanton Jr. at a Christian Church in Des Moines, Iowa. They were the parents of 3 children: Robert, David and Katherine. The family made their home in Des Moines until moving to Minburn in 1988. Sally kept busy as a homemaker and was especially fond of sewing, gardening and fishing. She also loved to travel. She was a member of the Order of Bouciante and ZDK Sorority. Sally was preceded in death by her parents and her husband George. She is survived by her daughter Katherine Render of Huntley, Illinois; sons: Robert Stanton of Minburn and David Stanton of Tiffin; three grandchildren: Matt Render and his wife Julie of Chicago, Illinois, Tad Render and his wife Christine of Morton Grove, Illinois, and Katie Bryant and her husband Thom of Glendale, Arizona; sister Margaret King and her husband Marvin of West Des Moines; other relatives and many friends.
