Marcia Ross

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Visitation: 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Marcia was born in Winterset, Iowa on April 7, 1959, the daughter of David and Juanita (Sprunger) Ross. Marcia was a member of the Gold Prospectors of America. She enjoyed working with her companion of 15 years, Steve, with his concrete business. She was an outdoor girl and adventurer and loved to travel. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, kayaking, and searching for arrowheads and fossils. She also loved her cats, Webster and Magic. Marcia died Saturday evening, June 26, 2010 at her home. She was 51. She is survived by her companion, Steve Jenkins of Dallas Center; her mother, Juanita Ross of Winterset; three sisters, Teresa Chapman (Terry) of Adel, Jean Miller (Marty) of Stuart, and Jane Strong (Jeff) of Winterset; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, David Ross in 2003; her grandparents; a sister, Shelly Smith in 2008; and her two cats.
