Margaret Davis

Margaret M. Davis, daughter of Emery Burns and Nancy Jane Edmonds Burns, was born March 19, 1919 in Keokuk, Iowa. After graduating high school Margaret went on to college at Iowa School of Beauty. She got her beauty license and started working at the college. Margaret's students loved her, and she would let them practice piercing on her ears. She had her ears pierced from top to bottom! She worked at Beauty Top Salon in downtown Perry. Margaret found her soul mate Gail Henry Davis, and the two were united in marriage on December 10, 1978. She had a beautiful voice that she shared with many. Margaret sang at church with her sister Dora, she played piano, and sang at funerals and the nursing homes. Margaret passed away on September 4, 2022 at Pearl Valley Nursing Home in Perry at the age of 103. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gail in 2012, sister Dora Lewis, stepsons Ron Davis and Dwight Davis, and step grandson Ronald Davis Jr. Margaret is survived by her stepdaughters Carol Morrow of Des Moines, and Janice Davis of Minneapolis; grandchildren: Audrey Morrow of Des Moines, Michael Morrow (Kristi) of Des Moines, Wendell Johnson of Minneapolis, Timothy Lloyd of Minneapolis, Netrea Miklowski (Gary), Michelle Davis, and Nicole Simpson, all of Minneapolis; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and friends.
