Margaret F. McLaughlin, 78, of Cumming, Iowa died Friday, August 26, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She is survived by her loving husband, Lewis of 55 years; three daughters, Sharon Bell and husband, Pat of St. Charles, Cecilia Stumpf of Des Moines, Donna McLaughlin of Portland, Oregon, two sons, Steve McLaughlin of Beulah, Colorado and Dennis McLaughlin of Cumming; five granddaughters, Christy, Andrea, Sarah, Shawna, and Hannah; one grandson, Kyle; and one great granddaughter, Alexia. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Strable, Ellen Dooley, and Alice Harkin; and two brothers, Thomas Wiedmann and Pat Wiedmann Margaret was born January 2, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Donahoe) Wiedmann. She was a graduate of Patterson High School and later married Lewis McLaughlin on October 22, 1949 at the Church of Assumption, Churchville. During her working career, Margaret worked as a seamstress for JCPenney Co. in Des Moines for over 25 years and also worked in the catalogue department. She spent many hours on her hobbies of sewing, crocheting, tatting and weaving. Margaret was a loving wife who enjoyed being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. St. Patrick's Irish Settelment Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, where a Rosary and Scripture Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Church, near Cumming. Memorial: Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Catholic Charities.
