Margaret Miller

August 2, 1925 — April 24, 2012

A Vigil service was held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry. Father David Polich officiated the service and Linda Todd was the Lector. The gift bearers were Linda Todd and Ann Webber, and the ushers were Jim Galligan and Gene Peel. Margaret's honorary casket bearers were: Matthew Miller, Kevin Todd, Kyle Todd, Allison Cooper, and Lily Miller. Her casket bearers were: Tom Todd, Ron Thomas, Lloyd Miller, Adam Miller, Melanie Miller, and Kurt Cooper. Jan Pattee provided the music. Burial was at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Following the service at the cemetery there was a time of lunch and fellowship at St Patrick school gym. Margaret Ann Miller, daughter of Frank Borgmeyer and Margaret Sarazine was born August 2, 1925 in Ames, Iowa and died April 24, 2012 at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry, Iowa at the age of 86. Margaret graduated from Iowa State University in June of 1946 with a Bachelor of Science in in Home Economics Education from the college of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. Margaret married Marvin Henry Miller on June 24, 1948 and they were the proud parents of Linda, Mark, Ann, and Joel. They made their home on a farm near Gilbert in Story County and later in Dallas County where they farmed near Bouton. In 1988 Margaret and Marvin moved to Perry. Margaret was a member of the St Patrick Catholic Church and the Regina Guild. She was very involved with the church and Catholic Daughters of America. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing. As a girl she was in 4-H and became a State Officer. She continued her interest in 4-H and served as a club leader for several years. Margaret was an avid reader and enjoyed soap operas both on the radio and television. Margaret was an Iowa State Basketball fan and loved watching baseball with Marvin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law Steve Webber. Margaret is survived by her children: Linda Todd (Tom) of Blaine, MN; Mark Miller (Deb) of Perry; Ann Webber of Des Moines; Joel Miller (Linda Dainty) of Carlisle; 6 grandchildren: Mathew Miller, Adam Miller, Allison Miller, Kevin Todd, Kyle Todd, and Lily Miller; 2 step-grandchildren: Bridgette Scott and Mark Simons; 11 great grandchildren; one brother Robert Borgmeyer (Margaret) of Ames; and one brother-in-law Lloyd Miller (Marilyn) of Minburn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. www.hastingsfh.com
