Margaret Pommer

Margaret Mary Pommer was born on August 21, 1938. She died peacefully on December 13, 2016 at the Kavanaugh House at the age of 78. She was one of three children born to Mary (Maidie) and T. Leonard Marnin and grew up in Fontanelle, Iowa. She graduated from Fontanelle High School and moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Margaret married Marvin Pommer on September 29, 1962. She was a receptionist at the Catholic Diocese of Des Moines where she continued to fill in from time to time. Margaret was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was active in the Stephen Ministry and Just Faith groups. She enjoyed having lunch with her friends and spending time with family. She also enjoyed her lake cabin in Minnesota and visiting with the neighbors. She loved to travel in Europe and made it to all 50 states except Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents and good friend Lena Gable. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Pommer; two children, Tracy Fraser Husband John of Orlando, FL., and Terri Paulus Husband Mike of Omaha NE; grandchildren, Samuel and Anna Paulus and Ashleigh Bontrager; Two brothers, George Marnin wife Connie and ML Marnin wife Mryna, and many other family members and a multitude of longtime friends The visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Des Moines from 4-7PM Monday, December 19th with a vigil service at 7 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, December 20th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with a burial at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines IA.
