Margery Jordan, 91 of Winterset, Iowa died Friday, December 25, 2015, at Westbridge Care and Rehabilitation in Winterset. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery, Knoxville and memorials to the HCI Hospice Care Services. Margery Nichols the daughter of William and Fern (Dainty) Nichols was born in Marion County, Iowa on August 8, 1924. She grew up in Marion County and graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1942. Her marriage to Merle Robert Jordan took place on June 18, 1942, in Long Beach, California. Merle preceded her in death on February 23, 2005. Margery was a farmwife and homemaker all of her life, raising her boys and helping Merle with all the things a farmwife of her generation did. She loved to tend to her floral and vegetable gardens enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing. She was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church in Patterson where she was an active member of the UMW. She was also a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau, Republican Women and she was also a 4-H leader in her younger years. All this said, she was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Survivors include her two sons, Larry (Gayle) Jordan of Pleasant Hill, Dennis (Kathy) Jordan of Prole; 4 grandchildren, Scott Jordan, Lisa Burnham, Kerri Schumacher and Kimberly Akers, 13 great-grandchildren, J. T. Jordan, Kelsey Pool-Shean, Karley Jordan, Taylor Abbott, Cole Jordan, Jamie Jordan, Brody Burnham, Blair Burnham, Danielle Akers, Dakota Akers, Shawna Schumacher, Nicole Schumacher and Blake Schumacher, 3 great-great grandchildren, Bailey, Elizabeth and Blake Abbott. She is further survived by sisters, Pauline (Ralph) Klootwyk of Knoxville, Geraldine Kingery of Indianola and sisters-in-law, Gloria Nichols of Altoona and Pat Nichols of Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a grandson, Larry Todd Jordan and siblings, Maxine (Alleyne) Moore, Harold Nichols, Leonard Nichols and Donald Nichols.
