Maria Deruz age, 78 of Valparaiso, Indiana (formerly of Palatine, Illinois) passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Perry, IA. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry, IA Maria Deruz was born on November 6, 1942 in Huacao, Michoacn, Mexico. Maria enjoyed gardening, flowers, and her family. She loved nurturing and caring for children and feeding everyone well. Left to cherish Marias memory are her children Debbie Sardina and Jim Deruz (Mary) and grandchildren, Maria and Matt Sardina and Jack Deruz. Along with many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) appreciated.
