Marian Gale Jones

Marian Jones, 88, (known as the Tomato Lady) of Patterson passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021, at MercyOne West Lakes Medical Center in West Des Moines, Iowa. Born in Knoxville, IA on Oct. 02, 1932, she was one of five children born to Gale and Evelyn Reed. On March 31, 1950, she was married to Norman Jones in Pella, IA. Marian retired in 1994 from Amoco Customer Service after working 14 years there. Survivors include daughter, Diana (Bob) Brown of Patterson, IA; son, Bill Jones of Des Moines, IA; daughter, Patty (David) Casson of Clive, IA; son-in-law, Dan Beebe of Holstein, IA; grandson, Rob (Heather) Brown; granddaughters, Darcey (Bryan) Skokan, Jenny (Jeff) Shepard, Brett Beebe, and Amanda (Devin) Mandi; grandson, Ryan Casson; several great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Mackie and Patricia Crandall-Wanner of Burleson, TX; and brother, Ron Reed of Houston, TX. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Gale and Evelyn Reed; husband, Norman Jones; daughter, Barbara Beebe; and sister, Elizabeth Hinkley. A graveside memorial service will be held at the McGinnis Cemetery on Thursday, April 29th, 2021, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Morehouse officiating. Lunch will follow the service at the Patterson Community Center. Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.
